What is the Opportunity?
The Specialist, Partnership Operations plays a critical role in supporting the operational efficiency of the Partnerships and Communication (P&C) Division. Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Partnership Operations, this role is responsible for optimizing data management, streamlining workflows, and enhancing system integrations to ensure seamless operations across fundraising and communications efforts.
The specialist will manage and implement cyclical reporting, data maintenance, and support specialized data projects including the development and deployment of systems and other data management tools.
This role directly communicates and collaborates with fellow project managers and department leaders and will serve as the P&C liaison for IT in many data-related projects and initiatives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong technical acumen, an eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. They must be able to navigate complex data structures, collaborate across teams, and continuously improve systems and processes. This full-time position can be based remotely within the United States or at Water Mission’s headquarters in Charleston, SC.
A successful Specialist, Partnership Operations will:
General

- Maintain a high- basic-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities. Stay informed of local, regional, national, and global news and issues to support the organization effectively.
Data Management & System Optimization
- Manage and refine Omatic formulas and profiles to ensure seamless data synchronization between Raiser's Edge (RE) and platforms such as MailChimp, NeonOne, and GoodWorld.
- Lead data clean-up initiatives, including cyclical maintenance and strategic projects, to uphold data integrity and support CRM enhancements.
- Design, implement, and maintain data policies and operational procedures across the fundraising department to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with industry best practices.
- Use system queries within the CRM and associated databases to run lists and create reports.
- Generate, analyze, and interpret cyclical reports to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Operations & Workflow Management
- Manage incoming operational requests, directing traffic to ensure timely and efficient processing.
- Perform quality assurance checks on mailing lists for ministry-related communications, ensuring accuracy.
- Conduct special data-related projects and activities to support departments as assigned.
Technology & Cross-Departmental Collaboration
- Partner with Water Mission’s Information Technology Department, under the direction of the Sr. Manager, to oversee interdepartmental projects, optimize workflows, troubleshoot issues, and enhance software systems to better align with P&C division goals and initiatives.
- Work alongside the Sr. Manager, IT and HR to assist in the development, deployment, and user training of the newly implemented or reconfigured CRM and associated software to ensure effective adoption and utilization.
Strategic Support & Process Improvement
- Perform strategic administrative functions, streamlining processes and supporting cross-functional initiatives to enhance efficiency and operational effectiveness.

- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 2-4 years of experience in project management, operations, and/or donor development.
- Commitment to organizational goals and be approachable to communicate with different stakeholders effectively.
- A desire to think creatively to solve problems and operate various processes.
- Ability to deliver high-quality, detail-focused work in a changing, fast-paced environment.
- Superior level of organization and attention to detail required.
- Experience with Smartsheet or other project management software preferred.
- Proficiency in managing Raiser’s Edge or other CRM/database preferred.
- Proficiency in Smartsheet software preferred.
- Proficient in using computers and Microsoft 365, specifically Office, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excel proficiency of “Intermediate” required.
- Ability to travel to Charleston headquarters at least two times a year.
- Flexibility to work periodic nights and weekends as required for ministry operations.
- Domestic and international travel may be expected up to 10%.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate ideas and feedback constructively.
- Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities.

- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
