Job Summary: Direct supervisor for all sales staff for their assigned area. Aggressively pursues incumbent sales goals and objectives; Supports individual and team activities to achieve Company goals and gross profit.  The Area Team Manager is responsible for monitoring the sales staff to ensure that they achieve the short and long-range sales objectives. The person is required to coordinate sales activities and promotions with other employees and administrators of the company as well as customers and clients of the company with respect to their needs, concerns, and schedules.

Job Function:

  • Manage and create strategies to maintain cash flow, and exceed sales revenue, and net profit for their respective team.
  • Establish future growth potential for new business and ensure that sales associates are trained and meet their sales objectives.
  • Responsible for managing and developing key accounts.
  • Evaluate and conduct achievement and performance evaluations for all sales team members.
  • Evaluate territory performance against established objectives/ guidelines (sales forecast, budget, number of new accounts, gross margin, the goal of the team, product sales plan, etc.) for their respective team and take appropriate action to improve performance.
  • Reviews and analyzes product expiration to create and execute sales/ product promotion so the sales team can take appropriate actions to sell off near expired items.
  • Effectively lead sales team by coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Establish and communicate daily, weekly, and monthly goals to the sales team to help achieve the goals.
  • In-depth knowledge of the product line, and specialized applications to create a sales strategy to sell to existing and new customers.
  • Independently recognizes and seeks out sales, methods of obtaining sales, and providing service to customers within the area of accountability.
  • Provide support in pricing studies, and assist in response to productivity requests and other special customer requirements.
  • Responsible for monitoring and adjusting the purchasing of products needed for the branch to control inventory.
  • Provides sales coaching and training to junior sales, sales associates, and senior sales associates as required.
  • Participate in planning training, seminars, and outside training to enhance product knowledge.
  • Monitors the schedule of sales staff to ensure that they are meeting with customers and potential customers.
  • Analyzes territory sales activity against actual sales.
  • Recommend product enhancement or changes based on market feedback and increased sales potential.
  • Prepares periodic reports and regularly updates database showing sales volume, potential sales, and status of active pursuits.
  • Recommend to the Sales HQ the future growth potential such as acquisitions, new market strategies, etc.
  • Cooperate with the accounting department to ensure the collection of accounts receivable due.
  • Develop a territory coverage plan, which defines the type of support and frequency of customer contact required to meet territory goals.
  • Cooperate with assigned inside customer service personnel, sales assistants, and office associates to achieve territory sales goals.
  • Other managerial duties as assigned.

Experience / Education:

  • 5 years of related sales experience
  • 2 years of managerial experience
  • 2 years of years of sales experience with Wismettac in the capacity of a Lead Sales Associate II or similar experience.
  • 2 years of years of managerial experience with Wismettac in the capacity of Deputy Area Team Manager or managerial experience, business analysis experience and the ability to identify and suggest improvement opportunities, experience utilizing computers, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Oracle ERP software.
