SUMMARY: The Sr. Power BI Developer to take ownership of our business intelligence environment. Designing and delivering scalable, high-performance reporting solutions. This role requires deep expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data modeling, along with strong problem-solving skills to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in an independent role and has experience working with IBM DB2, Infor CloudSuite, and cloud-based analytics solutions. You will play a key role in optimizing, standardizing, and governing BI processes, ensuring data integrity across financial, supply chain, and operational datasets.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Power BI Development & Data Visualization
- Architect, develop, and maintain scalable Power BI reports, dashboards, and self-service analytics solutions.
- Optimize DAX performance, Power Query transformations, and data refresh schedules for large datasets.
- Implement Power BI security best practices, including row-level security (RLS), object-level security (OLS), and workspace management.
- Establish a Power BI Center of Excellence (COE) to drive governance, consistency, and best practices.
- Database Management & Data Architecture
- Design and maintain optimized data models, ensuring alignment with business logic and data performance tuning.
- Work closely with IBM DB2, Infor CloudSuite, and Azure Synapse to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data efficiently.
- Develop incremental refresh strategies, indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques for high-performance reporting.
- Ensure scalability and reliability of Power BI solutions across the enterprise.
- Data Governance & Maintenance
- Standardize and document the existing Power BI environment, ensuring clear versioning, data definitions, and security protocols.
- Define data governance policies, enforce data quality standards, and implement metadata documentation.
- Monitor data refresh schedules, compliance risks, and system reliability.
- Work with IT security teams to ensure data privacy, regulatory compliance, and access control policies.
- Strategic BI Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s BI strategy, aligning reporting solutions with business objectives.
- Function as a trusted data advisor to C-suite executives, finance, supply chain, and operations teams.
- Conduct requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders to develop BI solutions that drive data-driven decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for advanced analytics, AI-driven insights, and predictive modeling.
- Provide training and mentorship to business users, analysts, and junior developers on Power BI best practices.
- Stay up to date with emerging BI technologies, recommending innovations to improve analytics capabilities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
- or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of experience in Power BI development, including advanced DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.
- Strong expertise in SQL development, query optimization, and database indexing.
- Experience designing enterprise-level Power BI solutions with a focus on performance, governance, and scalability.
- Deep knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud-based BI architectures.
- Proven experience working with large datasets (100M+ rows) and optimizing performance.
- Ability to define BI governance frameworks and establish best practices.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, and drive strategic initiatives.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with Infor M3 / CloudSuite Distribution.
- Knowledge of Azure Synapse, Data Factory, and Databricks.
- Familiarity with supply chain, finance, or distribution analytics.
- Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics.
- Background in leading BI transformation projects and implementing Power BI deployment pipelines.

- Full-time remote position.
- Travel is not typically required.
