SUMMARY: The Senior Inventory Analyst role reports to the accounting manager and will work closing with all functions of the business. The Senior Inventory Analyst will be responsible for providing inventory analysis and support for managing inventory and liaising with business partners to provide actionable information and support to sound business decisions in managing global inventory.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Investigate inventory parts at a consolidated and detail level with sales, operations and purchasing to help collect information used in inventory forecasts to support cash flow, annual operating plan and year plan.
  • Prepare presentations which provide actionable inventory opportunity, alignment and optimization analysis using market and customer intelligence gained in cross functional information research.
  • Interprets analysis, identifies trends, and issues, and recommends alternatives to support business objectives.
  • Gather data and assemble various ad hoc reports as needed.
  • The role requires process changes (not merely projects) whereby the individual will make recommendations to the business regarding changes/improvements to the SIOP processes that exist to forecast and make inventory purchasing decisions.

Accounting support activities:

  • Support, monitor and implement cycle count processes for all Segment within Aviation to ensure inventory levels reflect the operations. Draft inventory reports that document inventory counts, discrepancies, and other statistical data.
  • Consolidate monthly results with variance explanations for review at the segment level, including the preparation of a daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual information and metrics reports to be communicated to respective department managers.
  • Develop and review month / quarter end reporting schedules for accounting purposes, including the valuation reserve, aging reports, category change reports, forecasting reports, etc.
  • Review with each of the business segments the inventory valuation analysis.
  • Prepares monthly analysis to ensure accuracy of information to value inventory and prepare various reports.
  • Support accounting function in addressing internal and external auditor inquiries related to inventory matters.
  • Track daily inventory adjustment to identify opportunities in the inventory process.
  • Research and perform any necessary stock adjustments.
  • Reconcile inventory against our ERP system and perform root cause analysis to correct any discrepancies.
  • Review and align on a common process for all areas impacting inventory relating to purchases, sales, exchanges, and consignment. 

Supply Chain support activities:

  • Preparation of inventory investment analysis in support of supply chain business strategies.
  • Assist in identifying slow moving inventory and potential inventory obsolescence risks.
  • Analyze inventory to identify opportunities and/or customers for sale of slow-moving inventory.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 5+ years of previous experience
  • Advanced Microsoft office user (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Excellent attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting/Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Previous experience with Power Bi, Quantum, and other ERP systems
