A Brief Overview
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for managing complex, multi-site capital projects and driving engineering initiatives across multiple facilities. This role develops project proposals, specifies machinery, and leads project execution while ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards. The Senior Project Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, oversees contractors and internal personnel, and ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and under budget. Industry experience in manufacturing, preferably in personal care, pharmaceuticals, or related fields, is required.
What you will do
• Leads the development and execution of large-scale, multi-site capital projects. Creates detailed project proposals, equipment specifications, and execution plans. Manages all project phases, including scope definition, installation, commissioning, startup, and closeout. Develops bid packages, evaluates vendor proposals, and selects optimal equipment and resources.
• Ensures projects align with GMP, FDA, OSHA, and other safety and regulatory requirements. Works with Operations, Scheduling, and Safety teams to minimize production disruptions. Standardizes best practices across multiple facilities for engineering processes.
• Supervises and coordinates external contractors and internal personnel across multiple locations. Works closely with maintenance and production teams to enhance equipment efficiency and reliability. Provides technical leadership and mentorship to project engineers and other team members.
• Develops and manages multi-site project budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion. Provides strategic input into capital planning and cost control measures. Tracks project expenses and ensures alignment with corporate financial objectives.
• Leads initiatives to improve production efficiency, reliability, and automation. Drives the development of new processes and equipment enhancements. Ensures that all new and existing equipment meets operational performance targets.
• Prepares and maintains technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, operating procedures, and as-built drawings. Maintains and updates facility layouts using AutoCAD or similar software. Ensures that all documentation is aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Ensures all engineering projects adhere to company capital investment processes.
• Collaborates with leadership and stakeholders to align engineering initiatives with business goals.
• Leads problem-solving efforts related to process and equipment issues.
• Assists with technical training and provides expertise on equipment operation.
• Other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or Director.

Education Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) (Preferred)
Experience Qualifications
• 7-9 years in electrical or mechanical project and contractor management within a manufacturing environment. (Preferred)
• 7-9 years managing capital projects across multiple sites. (Preferred)
• 7-9 years background in personal care, pharmaceutical, food, or chemical manufacturing (Preferred)

• Familiarity with cGMP requirements in food, personal care, or pharmaceutical manufacturing (High proficiency)
• Understanding of Allen Bradley instrumentation & PLC programming (Medium proficiency)
• Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD (Medium proficiency)
