Junior Account Manager

Summary
The Junior Account Manager partners with the Business Development team to provide exceptional customer support, develop and maintain long-term business relationships, and expand brand awareness with assigned client group. This role responds to customer requests and supports business requirements. The Jr. Account Manager supports brand awareness through networking, education and, participating in community initiatives. The role is a full-time exempt position located in Baltimore, MD reporting to the Director, Regional Account Management. The compensation range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 annually plus a 15% bonus target.
Responsibilities
- Retain and grow client relationships and identify growth opportunities with assigned accounts
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships within all levels of customer organizations
- Promote new programs, products and services to meet business goals and growth objectives
- Support negotiations with clients, including contract preparation and financing solutions
- Champion company sponsored activities and support/participate in professional organizations to maintain close connections with the community
- Maintain and update customer contact database to accurately provide reporting and other required customer information
- In conjunction with finance help to resolve customer issues including billing and/or collections issues
- Produce communication materials including relevant data for current clients and potential new customers
- Plan, execute and attend customer site visits
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Must submit to company required pre-employment drug screen
- Experience with Microsoft Office, with a high proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to access and navigate tight spaces such as mechanical and control rooms
- Local travel to customer sites & occasionally business travel (less than 10%)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years’ experience in account management and/or business development
- Experience working in U.S. energy markets (natural gas, oil, coal and electricity)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Excellent interpersonal skills and thrives in a collaborative team environment
