Summary

 

The Junior Account Manager will manage customer requests and business requirements and will develop and maintain long-term relationships with each assigned customer with the leadership of the Account Manager.  Has responsibility for customer satisfaction for all business transactions with the goal to retain and grow the account sales.  This is not a lead generation role; it is working with an existing customer to ensure customer satisfaction, develop and sign ongoing long-term contracts for existing and expanded services. This role will also be responsible for supporting brand awareness through networking, lunch and learns, presentations, and time spent at customer sites. The Junior Account Manager reports to the Director, Regional Account Management. This is a full-time exempt position located in Baltimore, MD.

 

The compensation range for this position is $50,000-$60,000 annually plus a 15% bonus target.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Retain and grow relationships and business opportunities with assigned customer accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a quality relationship with customers at the operations & executive level.
  • Promote new programs, products and services to meet annual business plans and growth objectives.
  • Support, and when appropriate, lead negotiations with clients, including preparation of contracts and possible structuring of financing solutions.
  • Participate in company sponsored activities and professional associations to ensure an active and effective outreach program in the business and customer community.
  • Maintain an active and accurate customer contact database for all assigned customers for reporting of customer activities, marketing conditions and promotional materials.
  • Manage customer relationship to address and resolve any billing disputes or collections issues.
  • Meet and track business plan objectives.
  • Customer site visits to develop relationships and build customer rapport.
  • Attend customer or business community events on behalf of the company, sometimes during non-standard hours.

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or related discipline (industrial, utilities, or HVAC) required.
  • Experience working in the U.S. energy markets (natural gas, oil, coal and electricity) a plus.
  • 1-3 years’ experience in account management and business development providing technical, business and financial solutions.
  • Strong ability to interpret, develop and negotiate intricate agreements. Ability to influence long term sales contracts.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate options and understand competitive positions required to meet internal hurdles and successfully negotiate contracted business with customers.
  • Proven experience in developing technical and business solutions.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and listen to their needs in order to create customized client solutions.
  • Hands-on project experience working directly with clients. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team atmosphere with many departments Strong customer orientation and focus; all experienced through sales relationships, technical services and or customer service background.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a particular focus on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Must submit to company required pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to access and navigate tight spaces such as customer mechanical and control rooms.
  • Local travel to customer sites & occasionally business travel less than 10% of the time will be required.
