POSITION SUMMARY
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner attending oversees the quality of care delivered to his/her patients. Assesses clinical appropriateness for admission and collaborates with staff regarding potential outpatient admissions. Performs psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments (progress notes) for individuals under his/her care. Completes documentation necessary. Provides individual therapy, family therapy, and/or medication management as needed for patients under his/her care. Appropriately requests consultation when indicated. Provides psychiatric consultation when requested. Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA standards. Completes all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff Bylaws Rules and Regulations. Participates in the multidisciplinary treatment team and participates collaboratively in scheduled staffing regarding the treatment of his/her patients. Demonstrates appropriate prescribing of medications and ensures that documentation regarding medications complies with the facility and regulatory standards. Ensures that cases are adequately covered when away from the facility. Participates in ongoing PI activities and hospital committees as assigned. Completes necessary documentation to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided. Complies with all Medical Staff Bylaws and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. Complies with all facility policies and procedures, CMS, and regulatory requirements. Maintains professional behaviors at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduate from an accredited mental health nurse practitioner program required, board certification preferred
Experience: Prior experience in mental health psychiatric practice preferred
License: Currently unencumbered psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) licensure in the state of Texas.

2. Knowledgeable regarding infection control & employee health policies/procedures. Uses universal/standard precautions and effectively handles emergency situations
3. Participate in performance improvement activities for the facility.
4. Participates in the Medical Executive Committee.
5. Fosters relationships in the community.
6. Works with the CEO to meet Connections Wellness Group strategic goals and objectives.
7. Creates positive relationships with physicians in the community.
8. Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
9. Works with leadership, giving a physician perspective in creating and revising company policies and procedures.
10. Provides requested data for reporting.
11. Displays knowledge of regulatory standards and state and federal laws.
12. Actively participates in meetings and advises the hospital on medical matters.

4. Ability to analyze situations, evaluate data, and recommend/implement courses of action that would improve the functioning of systems/processes he/she is involved in.

Applicants who have been patients of any program or provider at the facility are eligible for employment under the conditions outlined below: For private practice therapy and medication management, the applicant must have discontinued and/or transferred their treatment to a provider or providers outside of the facility. For PHP/IOP services, the applicant must have been discharged from the program at least 2 years prior to applying for employment.
