Job Summary:

 

The Commercial Card Sales Consultant is responsible for driving the growth of our commercial card solutions, including corporate credit cards, purchasing cards, small business cards, and electronic accounts payable virtual payments.  This role focuses on acquiring new business clients, developing strategic relationships, and delivering tailored payment solutions that result in loyal and effective card programs.  The Card Consultant will partner with Relationship Managers, Treasury Solution Consultants, and other internal partners to build pipelines, increase product knowledge, and lead the technical sales process for middle market clients.

Responsibilities and Duties:

 

  • Executes sales plan, develops strong partnership and collaboration with line of business and Treasury Consultants to identify and drive client and prospect sales opportunities to achieve/exceed revenue and portfolio growth objectives for assigned client portfolio.
  • Participates in the development of detailed relationship plans for clients/prospects within assigned client group to identify key retention and new client acquisition opportunities
    • Prepare customized request for information, request for proposal, file spend analysis, proposals and sales presentations
    • Negotiate contract terms and pricing that will be appealing to the customer and deliver an acceptable return to bank
  • Fosters relationships with bankers and product partners to collaborate on opportunities and engage in strategic client planning
  • Participates in the development of detailed relationship plans for clients/prospects within assigned client group to identify key retention and new client acquisition opportunities
  • Uses insight and consultative selling techniques to teach prospective customers how they can leverage payment solutions (purchasing, travel, and electronic account payable) to positively impact their business

Job Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • 7+ years of commercial card experience in client facing role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business field of study.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing deals in a competitive market.
  • Understanding of business finance, accounting principles, and payment processing systems specifically used in small business and/or middle market relationships.
  • Ability to establish rapport with key decision-makers at client companies while building trust.
  • Confidence in delivering presentations to potential clients and showcasing the value proposition of the commercial card program.
  • Ability to analyze data and market trends to identify new sales opportunities and tailor solutions to client needs.
  • Thorough understanding of the interworking’s of the entire credit card transaction process.
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills to present complex information in a concise and understandable manner to internal partners and external clients.
