Data Architect

 

Summary of Position: The Data Architect is responsible to lead in the planning, architecture, development and implementation of Verisma Technologies’ enterprise data solutions and products. The Data Architect is a critical role in providing architecture, development and support of Verisma Technologies’ current and future data solutions and products. As the Data Architect, your primary responsibility is to coordinate the movement, enhancement, integration, quality and availability of data through data extracts and reporting. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment, and effective collaboration with the team to meet project deliverables within established timelines. Additionally, this position includes supervisory responsibilities in a remote capacity.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead in the design, creation, testing, and implementation of data deliverables (i.e. Business Intelligence, Reports, Data Feeds) including but not limited to ensure the movement, enhancement, integration, quality and availability of data throughout the company

• Coordinates and/or creates the documentation of interfaces and data movement, including the frequency of movement, the source and destination of each step, how the data is transformed as it moves and any aggregation or calculations.

• Provide data architecture design, impact analysis and technical specifications and requirements to items as it relates to the current and future enterprise architecture

• Develop and maintain a detailed mapping of current data sources

• Define integrative views of data and manage related metadata

• Design canonical data views to assist a broad range of transformations and translations

• Define technical standards and guidelines to encourage reuse of existing data stores, as well as address issues of security, timeliness, and quality

• Investigate emerging technologies and new releases

• Participate in proof-of-concept projects and other projects that are early users of new technologies.

• Clearly communicate and support the use of the data architecture to all stakeholders

• Provide continuous operational support for data solutions and associated deliverables

• Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields is preferred; a master’s degree is ideal

• 5+ years of proven professional experience in data engineering and/or architecting, including expertise in SSRS, Power BI, MS SQL, Crystal Reporting, BI tools, and data development for enterprise solutions such as warehousing, enhanced reporting, and data integration services

• Skilled in information delivery concept, design and development using modern reporting tools

• Must possess strong analytical skills, critical thinking abilities, and problem-solving expertise

• Must possess meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Proven ability to work well with users at all levels, both within the Verisma Technologies’ and customers’ organization

• Demonstrate a “can do” positive attitude when approaching challenges

• Proficient working within the cloud computing environments and familiar with Microsoft tools

• Prefer experience in Big Data technologies, large data warehouse environments with complex data models, and Microsoft solutions such as SharePoint and Azure Data Services

• Excellent oral, written communications and presentation skills with both technical and nontechnical information
