The USGA is a mission-based golf organization whose purpose is to unify the golf community through handicapping and grassroots programs; to showcase the game’s best talent through the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open and 13 other national championships and our museum; to provide unbiased global governance with The R&A through the playing, equipment and Amateur Status rules; and to advance issues important to golf’s future, with a focus on driving sustainability, accessibility and inclusion. The USGA is offering a full-time, paid internship to highly motivated and committed designer wishing to build upon their college education with practical professional creative experience in the fast-paced, results-driven world of the golf.

 

This position is responsible for assisting in the creation of graphics and creative that will be posted across all organization platforms as well as various digital and print assets. The Graphic Design Intern will work on projects from across the organization and is expected to work with the entire team on an as-needed basis on other creative and design deliverables.

 

This internship could last up to 12 months and will begin Spring of 2025. This position is based in Liberty Corner, NJ.

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Proficiency in Adobe CS (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Ability to effectively translate and evolve creative from an existing style guide 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills 
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of projects 
  • Strong professional demeanor
  • The ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization 
  • Available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, there is potential for extended evening, weekend work hours for USGA Championships (onsite and remote); may have to work occasional holidays
  • Must be able to provide your own housing and transportation in the New Jersey area

Experience & Education

  • Completed bachelor’s or graduate degree, preferably in Graphic Design/Visual Communications
  • Experience with Mac and digital photography
  • Experience in the sports industry is preferred
