Position Overview:
The vice president of Health Policy will lead the U.S. Chamber's integrated Health Policy portfolio and play a critical role in advancing the Chamber's mission to promote resilient health care systems. This position is pivotal in establishing and advancing high-impact programs related to the comprehensive health-related workstreams represented by the Chamber, including access and benefits, technology, insurance, pharmaceuticals, health finance, care delivery, and employee welfare (collectively, health policy). The vice president will manage strategic advocacy efforts, expand membership, and direct day-to-day operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned health policy expert to make a meaningful impact on a significant scale.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute well-reasoned programs to help advance health care system transformation.
- Supervise staff and consultants to ensure the effective execution of health care initiatives.
- Develop and deliver a variety of materials, including op-eds, issue updates, testimony, analyses, and other relevant documents.
- Drive media engagement by participating in interviews, speaking at public events, and hosting government officials to raise awareness of Chamber initiatives.
- Lead research projects to provide data-driven insights into health policy.
- Maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including companies, government agencies, foreign embassies, and business associations worldwide.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, including industry groups, think tanks, and policymakers, to advance the Chamber’s health agenda.
- Engage with government officials, media, stakeholders, and supporters of the Chamber’s health agenda.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of policy or strategy work in the health care space.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing multifaceted strategic plans and/or advocacy campaigns.
- Extensive experience in health policy development, advocacy, and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of health issues, particularly in the areas of technology, insurance, pharmaceuticals, health finance, care delivery, and employee welfare.
- Proven ability to manage diverse teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex policy issues to various audiences.
- Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, industry leaders, and other health organizations.
The salary range for this position is $260,000.00 to $280,000.00, with the possibility of additional compensation through a discretionary bonus. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
