After School Program Coordinator
Location: Fairfax Corps
Position Type: Regular Full-Time/Hourly
Pay Range: $19.60 - $19.60/hour
About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for the general supervision of the Corps Officer, the After School Program Coordinator assists in running the afterschool program ensures well-being of children in the program; orders snacks and supplies; keeps statistical records up to date; collects and tracks fees; prepares reports for reports for Corps Officers/Program Director and parents; prepares programs and materials; provides transportation; helps ensure program areas are clean.
Key responsibilities:
- Program Management
- Assists with collecting and receipting weekly fees, including handling delinquent accounts, alerting parents to outstanding balances at the end of each week, keeping accurate records on money received, and working out payment plans with Corps Officer approval.
- Keeps parents informed as to the progress of their children including discussing discipline issues and positive behaviors and providing information on all happenings in the program through newsletters and various other written notification.
What we are looking for in you:
- 45-hour school-age class or six college credit hours in an education related field, in addition to high school diploma or equivalent
- AND
- One year experience working with children in a child development field, preferably with a faith-based program.
- OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to occasionally lift light objects weighing less than 24 pounds. Duties are usually performed standing, or intermittently sitting, walking, or stooping. Work may be performed in a classroom situation, office environment, or kitchen, where noise is present. Some work is performed outdoors and occasionally in cold or inclement weather.
