About this opportunity:
Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the day-to-day warehouse/truck crew operations with limited staff ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards. Supervises truck Drivers and Truck Helpers in collecting and delivering donated goods from donors to thrift store. May support store operations based on business needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Will serve as Trainer and Sponsor for, New truck Driver, and New Truck Helper. Will provide detailed instruction on job functions and orienting new employee to the work center and relevant departmental procedures.
- Oversees weekly warehouse sales (bulk sales) to include selection and set up of sellable items; oversees the auction setup, operation, and break down; ensures all items are properly tagged and available for customer pick up; works with support staff to manage all associated paperwork for both The Salvation Army and the customer.
- Takes over as a truck driver in the absence of a driver or in the event of a special event that requires a driver.
What we are looking for in you:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D AND
- Two years progressively responsible experience working in warehouse environment and truck operations with at least One year experience in a supervisory capacity. OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a warehouse or store environment where exposure to dirt, dust, and/or disagreeable sights and odors are present.
