Education Coordinator

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Education Coordinator for the Peachcrest Boys and Girls Club, located in Atlanta, Georgia.
 
 

Job Summary

Plans, develops, implements, leads, and evaluates a comprehensive educational program designed to assist persons to better their life styles through education; researches and develops effective and innovative course materials; documents program activities and attendance as well as client progress; builds and maintains effective and professional relationships with clients and other community agencies; provides referrals as needed.
 
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles and practices of Early Childhood, Adolescent and Adult Education; Knowledge of the principles and practices of life management including such topics as Parenting, Nutrition, Aids and Drug Awareness, Life Skills, etc.; Knowledge of The Salvation Army program operations and clientele for which this position represents whether it be Social Services or Corrections, etc. Ability to develop and lead educational programs in an innovative and effective manner; Ability to monitor, document, and evaluate the progress of program participates; Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and up-to-date manner; Ability to build and maintain effective and nurturing relationships with program clients; Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language; Ability to lead group presentations;
 
 

Education and Experience
Two (2) year degree from an accredited college or university in Education, or a related field,

And

Twp (2) years experience developing and leading educational programs with a concentration in life management and health related course work, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

None
 
 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to meet attendance requirements; Duties are usually performed seated.Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is performed in a normal office or classroom environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
