INCUMBENT:
REPORTS TO: BOYS & GIRLS CLUB EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
LOCATION:

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in facilitating and monitoring recreational activities of the Boys & Girls Club; supervises and coaches sporting events; transports patrons to and from the Club; assists in maintaining the Club facilities, equipment, and grounds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: This job description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the essential functions and requirements of this position. Opens/closes the Club in compliance with established operating hours; ensures the center is properly secured during non-operating hours.
Prepares and maintains a schedule of Club activities in an accurate and timely manner.
Supervises patrons visiting the Club and participating in programs; ensures that patron's behavior remains consistent with club rules and regulations.
Supervises and coaches football, basketball, and baseball games; leads and motivates players to exhibit good sportsmanship.
Transports patrons to and from the Club; observes good driving habits at all times in order to ensure the safety of patrons and The Salvation Army vehicles.
Assists in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the Club facilities and grounds; maintains ball fields; mows and trims grass; trims trees and shrubs; rakes, loads, and hauls leaves and pine-straw.
Reports any injuries to the supervisory immediately and instructs the injured party to complete an incident report.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Completes and submits monthly statistics form in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs other related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D.,
and
six months experience coaching and supervising athletic events and experience maintaining grounds,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid State Drivers' License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the standard rules and techniques of athletic sports such as baseball, basketball, and football.
Ability to build effective and positive relationships with people of all ages.
Ability to lead and motivate people participating in recreational activities.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to perform various yard work including raking, loading, and hauling grass, leaves, pine straw, dirt, etc.
Ability to operate yard maintenance equipment.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
