Position Type: Regular Full-Time       

Pay Range: $18.00/hr

About this opportunity:

Under the direct supervision of the Shelter Program Manager, the Lead Housing Monitor serves as the supervisor to other Housing Monitors. He/she monitors the day-to-day routine operations of the Housing Monitors; monitors the activity of residents on evening and weekend shifts ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules; plans, schedules, and organize Wellness Program classes; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; ensures the facility is maintained in a neat and proper order.  Follows a non-traditional work schedule to include regular evening and weekend shifts, and when necessary, relief coverage.

Key responsibilities:

•             In collaboration with the Program Manager, plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of subordinate personnel; trains and instructs employees in the proper methods and procedures; monitors work in progress and upon completion to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations and provides salary and hiring/firing recommendations. Supervises volunteers, interns and maintenance employees on shift. Ensure staff remains in compliance with all required training. 

•             Ensures security of facility by checking the security of all windows and doors, monitoring cameras and making periodic rounds of entire facility. 

•             Completes required paperwork representing client intake for the day; inputs data into the computer in order to maintain computer records and generate client lists; prepares, tallies, and balances monies with receipts; drops the money in the safe.

•             Assists in preparing and serving meals to residents as well as cleaning kitchen and dining area afterwards.

•             Monitors wake-up procedures for residents; conducts room checks \and assists with getting residents to breakfast and/or daily tasks.

 

•             Project manages the implementation of enterprise reporting and accounting systems initiatives for general ledger, budgeting, fundraising, automation and payroll, including but not limited to, Ceridian, ADP GL Infolink, Dynamic Budgets budgeting platform, and Nexus, a payable/document management service.

 

What we are looking for in you:

 

High school diploma or G.E.D. and;

two-year experience performing security in residential setting preferred and previous supervisory required 

or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action. Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.  Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
