Location: The Salvation Army Georgia Divisional Headquarters    

About this opportunity:
Assists the Program Director for Project Share/Project Hope with the development, implementation, and processing of all functions within the Project Share program including processing casework, processing payments, maintaining files and records, and processing reports for funders and field locations. Provides orientation and ongoing training to field locations including creating training and informational materials and presentations. Provides technical assistance and coordination for the case management services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Processes cases for Project Hope, Project Share, and other specially funded assistance programs including completing intake forms, gathering verification documents to ensure eligibility, documenting bills, creating and making pledges to vendors, logging information into the client management system, verifying pledges and payments, and providing routine updates and reports to field locations. Works with local case management field personnel to complete necessary casework to complete transactions.
  • Assists Program Director with routine case management tasks as needed.
  • Provides support in the areas of direct service, community resource development and data maintenance to help ensure the full implementation of all social services initiatives within the division.
  • Provides orientation and ongoing training to field locations in implementation of the Project Share/Project Hope programs.
  • Provides technical assistance and coordination for the case management services offered to program clients at field social services sites to ensure compliance with goals and standards of the Divisional social services programs as it pertains to the use of case management and intake software.
  • Reports any social services program implementation challenges and works with the Program Director to develop an action plan to address program development needs.
  • Ensures quality of local data and reporting of information that will support divisional, territorial and national outcomes.
  • Processes payment and reimbursement transactions for cases including creating and verifying batch reports and requests, creating and transmitting both statistical and financial reports for field locations and funders ensuring accuracy of report information, reconciling discrepancies in reports between finance and Project Share/Project Hope departments, verifying completion of payments and deposit of donations, logging payments and donations into the client management and donor management systems.  
  • Creates training and informational materials regarding the programs including flyers, brochures, training agendas, manuals, criteria checklists, infographics, PowerPoint presentations, and other needed materials to support the proper execution of the assistance programs.
  • Carries out routine administrative tasks for Project Share/Project Hope department as needed including typing, mailing, retrieving and distributing mail, routing requests for assistance to appropriate field locations, and maintaining shared mailboxes.
  • Performs other Specialist functions as may be required such as assisting with disaster service casework, assisting with DHQ switchboard coverage, and other tasks supporting DHQ function.
  • Promotes The Salvation Army social services including spiritual services and provides guidance for the effective delivery of those services.
  • Designated Emergency Disaster Services Social Services Staff.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Business, Finance, or related field from an accredited college or university; and
  • Two years’ experience in casework, business management, finance/accounting, or office management/administrative work experience; client management system and supervisory experience preferred, or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid State Driver’s License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to travel throughout the Southern Territory periodically to work with divisional and local social services staff. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
