Music Assistant Intern

Location:  Territorial Headquarters, Atlanta, GA      

About this opportunity:

This position is a summer music internship and will be responsible for Assisting the Territorial Music & Creative Arts Education Secretary with Music administrative tasks to support Commissioning, Conservatories, TMI, and Bible Conference.

Key responsibilities:

• Travel to Bible Conference to support programming for Cadet’s welcome by printing music, organizing schedules, and teaching sectionals.
• Receives leadership training from music department members, including specific music and arts training, mentoring, practical skills, and musical and spiritual development.
• Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.

What we are looking for in you:

• Currently enrolled in a music education or performance degree program, AND
• Two years of experience in Salvation Army music and arts programs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Ability to load a truck and carry heavy equipment.
• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to read, write, analyze, and listen with perception to music.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
• Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, and copier.

Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 30 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Ability to travel to various destinations throughout the Southern Territory.

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Work may involve exposure to outdoor temperatures and changes in weather or discomforts associated with outdoor performances.
