JOB SUMMARY:
Cleans and maintains the buildings and grounds to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis; performs routine repairs and maintenance of buildings and equipment; performs minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repair work.

Clean off sidewalks with blower.
Collects trash from grounds.
Assists in setting up meeting rooms; sets up tables and chairs.
Monitors light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order; replaces light bulbs as necessary.
Performs routine building maintenance activities; performs minor pluming repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged toilets; performs carpentry work required to repair dents and/or holes in walls and paints walls.
Performs routine maintenance and repair of Salvation Army buildings.
Paints inside and outside of all Salvation Army buildings.
Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc.
Drives truck in order to pick up materials and repair items needed for maintenance work.
Cleans surroundings after each repair job; ensures that all tools are collected and surroundings are left neat and clean.
Monitors lighting and changes light bulbs when needed.
Maintains all tools, supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to the Maintenance Department.
This position is full time in November and December to assist with red kettle campaign. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, driving workers to kettle locations, picking up and securing kettle donations, and other duties as deemed necessary.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Opens/closes building as scheduled; Displays special signs as needed.
Assists the public in unloading and carrying donations.
Assists in performing building maintenance and repair work.
Assists in performing grounds keeping work.
Assists in performing housekeeping work at lodge/shelter.
May drive Salvation Army vehicle to pick-up and/or deliver miscellaneous items or to transport passengers.
Performs other related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
No formal education or experience required,
Six months experience performing general housekeeping duties,
Or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Drivers License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to perform general maintenance and cleaning activities for buildings and grounds.
Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read and communicate the English language.
Ability to exert the physical energy required to performing housekeeping and minor maintenance work.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and climbing.
