Position Type:     Regular Full-Time/Hourly

Pay Range: $27.74 - $31.00/hour

About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for under the general supervision of the Grants Manager, the Grants Coordinator will assist in developing well-researched and written grant proposals and help manage the grants process to raise funds that will sustain and expand programs; assemble pertinent grant material packages for final submission; ensure overall accuracy and quality of grant documents; work with the Grants Manager to coordinate the completion and submission of required follow-up reports; keep organized records of grant applications, award documentation, and reports; and help update and maintain the grants calendar.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help coordinate discussions with Program staff to vet potential funding opportunities. Prepare notes based on previous research and recommendations from similar past grants.
  • Ensure compliance with grants reporting requirements by assisting Program staff, as needed. Write and edit grant report narratives in collaboration with Program staff.
  • Work with the Grants Manager to identify private and public grant opportunities that align with NCAC funding priorities and programming needs.

What we are looking for in you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferably in English, writing, or an appropriate field,
  • AND
  • One to three years of related work experience in fundraising (previous experience assisting with grant proposals preferred)
  • OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 
  • Valid Driver’s License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conduct all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism. Ability to travel to various locations (around the DMV) in order to participate in meetings at Corps/Social Service Centers, community meetings, conferences, etc. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time. Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but not limited to the office environment.
