Job Summary:
Participates in the daily operations of the Concession/Coffee Bar area; maintains an organized and sanitary environment; adheres to all health codes and food services standards and regulations in order to provide safe food and drinks to customers; serves guests in a professional manner and provides excellent customer service.

Cooking and Serving Responsibilities (45%)
Cooks and prepares a variety of foods and beverages utilizing kitchen equipment, utensils and supplies in accordance with acceptable and economical cooking methods; serves food and beverages in a presentable manner as needed.
Customer Service Responsibilities (35%)
Participates in the opening and closing of the concession/coffee bar in accordance with the established schedule to ensure adequate access by members, guests, and visitors.
Provides exemplary customer service, appreciation, and helpfulness that fit with the mission of The Salvation Army.
Operates the cash register and ensures the proper handling of all monies received in accordance with Salvation Army guidelines.
Kitchen and Dining Room Cleaning Responsibilities (15%)
Cleans tables, chairs, floors, dishes, utensils, and kitchen appliances.
Follows proper food handling procedures; cleans and maintains all food prep areas and equipment in compliance with health regulations and guidelines; practices safety procedures in the utilization of tools, food preparation equipment, and protective equipment.
Stores, refrigerates, and freezes foods in a safe and economical manner; monitors expiration dates on all foods ensuring proper disposal of food with expired dates.
Washes, dries, and stores pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups, bowls, and utensils.
Sweeps and mops kitchen and vacuums dining room floors.
Cleans refrigerators, freezers, ice machines, coffee makers, stoves, and ovens.
Receives and stocks foods, beverages, and supplies in an orderly and safe manner.
Administrative Responsibilities (5%)
Assists in maintaining the inventory of all food items, paper supplies and cleaning supplies; informs supervisor when additional supplies are needed.
Monitors and keeps accurate records of all food, refrigerators, freezers, and heating units throughout the scheduled shift; reports any issues to the Food Services Manager as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
Assists the food services department with large events as needed.
Attends and participates in staff meeting and training on a regular basis.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of food preparation and management.
Knowledge of proper cooking methods and procedures.
Knowledge of acceptable food storage and cleaning techniques.
Knowledge of health regulations governing the operation of public kitchens.
Ability to project a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required,
and
One year experience working with concessions,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities.
Certifications:
Food Handler’s Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to operate a cash register, perform routine mathematical computations and count change.
Ability to cook, taste and smell food.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, stooping, and lifting. Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting.
Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light to moderately heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) frequently.
