Divisional Donor Services & Cultivation Manager
Location: Potomac Divisional Headquarters, Alexandria, Virginia
Position Type: Regular Full-Time
Pay Range: $85,000 - $106,000/year.
About this opportunity:
Under the direct supervision of the Divisional Development Director, the Divisional Donor Services & Cultivation Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and directing the mid-level donor program to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors to secure continued and increased giving; planning, executing, and directing the sustainer program to create predictable, recurring revenue; planning, executing, and directing the donor recognition program to express gratitude to key donors, celebrate their generosity, enhance donor engagement, and strengthen donor relationships; assisting the Divisional Development Director with administration of the Direct Mail program; providing direct donor care and support services; ensuring that all gifts are accurately recorded, properly designated, and promptly acknowledged; maintaining the integrity and hygiene of the donor management database (InterChange) and ensuring that all aspects of InterChange are utilized effectively.
Key responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and direct mid-level donor program to cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors with annual giving between $500-$2,499 to secure continued and increased giving; assist the field with the advancement of mid-level donors, elevation to major donor status, and transfer to the Resource Development team when annual giving reaches $2,500.
- Plan, execute, and direct sustainer program (also known as recurring gift program) to create predictable, recurring revenue; assist the field with the acquisition and retention of sustainer donors and the growth of monthly giving.
- Promptly and professionally answer donor questions, resolve donor issues, and fulfill donor requests and update constituent records in InterChange accordingly or route to the applicable command if there is staff in place to handle them; alert applicable command of any complex questions, significant and/or recurring issues, and important requests; record and track requests on Donor Care log.
- Proactively identify and merge duplicate records in Interchange; fulfill merge records requests from officers, local development staff, and Divisional Development Department; record and track on Merge Records log.
- Maintain the integrity and hygiene of InterChange per the rules, policies, procedures, and minutes of the Southern Territory and Potomac Division; enter, update, and correct pertinent donor information and record donor interactions and gift details promptly and accurately; ensure database security and donor information and record confidentiality; provide InterChange access and privileges to qualified users.
- Process all donations per the rules, policies, procedures, and minutes of the Southern Territory and Potomac Division to ensure timely and proper depositing, recording, and receipting of gifts; utilize the Remote Device Capture (RDC) scanner or Whitemail Log and confirm that gifts are recorded in InterChange in the correct donor record, designated to the applicable command, and promptly acknowledged; alert applicable command and assigned prospect manager of gifts processed.
What we are looking for in you:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, Public Relations or related field; And
- Five years’ experience of progressively increasing responsibilities in non-profit fundraising and donor services utilizing a donor management system to include donation management, gift acceptance policies, donor acknowledgement best practices, confidential handling of donor information and compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to effectively and efficiently work on multiple projects at the same time without becoming frustrated or disorganized. Work is typically performed in an office environment, but some may require walking, standing, stooping, and lifting and carrying objects (less than 40 lbs.).
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
