About this opportunity:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of housekeeping duties for the campus life department on campus; cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies; sweeps, vacuums, mops, and waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks, cleans windows, dust and polishes furniture and fixtures; ensures the neatness and cleanliness of guest housing; assist with set up for events and banquets at Evangeline Booth College; assists in maintaining the storage equipment and linens/decoration room; signs in and out decoration when being used on campus

What we are looking for in you:

  • One (1) year experience in housekeeping with experience in university or similar industry
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required AND one year experience performing general housekeeping duties OR an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid State of Georgia Driver's License (Approved Salvation Army Vehicle Report required)
  • Approved background check report required

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

 

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, and some climbing.

Ability to exert the physical energy required to perform the general housekeeping duties.

Ability to safely lift and carry objects such as linens and decorations.

Ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle safely following all laws, regulations, and policies.

Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, calculator, photocopy machine, facsimile, scanner, etc.

Duties are performed standing and requires squatting, climbing, bending, and walking. Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional period of sitting.

Physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 50% of work time.

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, and the like.
