Van Driver & Housing Monitor
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Van Driver/Housing Monitor for the Coastal Alabama Area Command located in Mobile, Alabama.
About this opportunity:
Drives a Salvation Army van in order to transport passengers to and from activities and runs errands as needed. Monitors service desk and cameras. Assist with the daily check-in for the emergency shelter. Accepts and pick-up donations and issues receipts to donors. Provides information about shelter to walk-ins and callers. Manages in and out logs for visitors, volunteers, and clients.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities include:
- Knowledge of acceptable driving techniques and practices.
- Ability to drive a passenger vehicle ensuring the safety of passengers and protection of the vehicle.
- Ability to read and follow maps.
What we are looking for in you:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. and
- two years experience operating an automotive vehicle or
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid State Driver's License required
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work involves driving a vehicle where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with long distance trips or heavy traffic. Work requires performance of duties in social services environments where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible.
