Position: Summer Camp Arts & Crafts Specialist
Position Type: Overnight Residential - Temporary Full-Time
Pay Rate: 250.00 weekly.
About this opportunity:
Plans, coordinates, and leads arts and crafts activities and programs at camp; maintains all arts & crafts materials and supplies. Ensures quality and cleanliness of supplies & assigned area. Trains camp staff to lead, chaperone and monitor arts & crafts activities and ensures safety and a positive experience for campers.
Key responsibilities:
- Plans, coordinates, and participates in a variety of arts and craft activities for the campers; organizes activities and promotes participation.
- Monitors the arts and crafts activities to ensure safety of participants; instructs campers and staff in proper methods for operating tools; monitors and directs behavior at all times to ensure compliance with camp rules.
- Assists counselors with the development of art kits for use by cabins.
- Maintains accountability and inventory of all arts and craft tools, materials, and supplies; orders or purchases needed supplies and materials as approved.
- Ensures the arts and crafts area and supplies are clean and free from debris at all times. Identifies potential hazards and responds appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Secures and locks all arts/crafts equipment and supplies after each session.
- Performs all duties in accordance with prescribed regulatory compliance guidelines as well as American Camp Association accreditation standards.
- Trains other camp staff to lead, chaperone and monitor arts and crafts activities.
- Participates enthusiastically as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
- Sits with camper tables during meals and serve as a table monitor when needed.
- Keeps personal living quarters neat, clean and ready for inspection.
- Be available to participate and assist with camp programs and activities as directed by the Camp Director.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for in you:
- Two years’ experience performing and coordinating arts and crafts projects preferred, or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Some physical requirements of the Camp Counselor position could be endurance including climbing, standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate activities are required. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.

Additional Information:
Camp Staff Orientation will be held June 9 – June 15, 2025, and participation is required. The 2024 summer Camp program session will be held June 16 - July 19, 2025. If you are unable to work the entire session, please let us know on your application.
