Job Summary: 

Provides a variety of cleaning duties and maintains the building to ensure the upkeep, neatness, and cleanliness of the same on a daily basis.  

Essential Functions:

Facilities Cleaning Responsibilities (100%)  

Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies.  

Sweeps, vacuums, mops floors; sweeps sidewalks. 

Cleans windows; dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures. 

Empty trash cans regularly; collects trash from grounds and cleans trash cans. 

Oversees and directs the work of community service workers. 

Assembles and moves office furniture including chairs, desks, tables, bulletin boards, etc. 

Assistsin setting up meeting rooms; sets up tables and chairs; puts ice in glasses and sets out drinks.  

Other Responsibilities: 

Performs light grounds keeping responsibilities includingwatering plantsas necessary. 

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Materials and Equipment: 

General Cleaning Tools 

Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities: 

Knowledge of effective cleaning and sanitizing practices, general building and groundsmaintenance practices and procedures including proper safety precautions. 

Ability to perform routine cleaning duties, minor repairs, and maintenance activities of buildings and grounds. 

Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment and tools effectively and in a safe manner. 

Ability to follow instructions and work independently. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

Educationand Experience: 

No formal education required, 

And 

six months experience performing general janitorial and general maintenance duties;  

or  

Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

Certifications: 

None 

Physical Requirements: 

Ability to meet attendance requirements. 

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. 

Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. 

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. 

Ability to exert the physical energy requiredtoperform the needed janitorial work. 

Duties are performed standing and requiressquatting, climbing, bendingand walking.  Any of the preceding duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting. 

Extensive amount of physical effort requiredassociated with walking, standing, liftingand carrying heavy objects (up to 50lbs.). 

Working Conditions: 

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environmentwith exposure to dirt, dust, disagreeable sights and/or odors, and various temperatures.
