JobSummary: 

 

Plans, implements, supervises membersand evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys & Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good CharacterandCitizenship.Mayoverseespecialprogramsand/orevents(i.e.Keystone,YouthoftheYear and Awards Programs), and/or participatein the implementation of other unit activitiesas necessary. In absence of the Program Coordinator;may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families in order tohelp advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

PrepareYouthforSuccess(20%) 

 

CreatesanenvironmentthatfacilitatestheachievementofYouthDevelopmentOutcomes: 

  • Promotesandstimulatesprogramparticipation. 

  • Assistswithregistrationofnewmembersandparticipatesintheircluborientationprocess. 

  • Providesguidanceandrolemodelingtomembers. 

 

ProgramDevelopmentandImplementation(70%) 

 

Implementsandadministersprograms,servicesandactivitiesforClubmembersinaneffectivemanner.May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of Year programs or Youth of the Month. 

Monitorsandevaluatesprograms,services,andactivitiestoensuresafetyofmembers,qualityinprograms and appearance of the branch at all times.Prepare periodic activity reports. 

 

Assistswithimplementationofoutreacheffortstosustainandincreaseprogrammembershipandprogram participation. 

 

Facility&EquipmentManagement(10%) 

Assistsin maintainingfacilityand equipment in good working order. Assistsinmaintainingallstorageareaskeepingthemorderlyandclean. 

Reportsallrepairs,maintenance,andjanitorialneedstosupervisor. 

 

AdditionalResponsibilities: 

 

Mayparticipateinspecialprogramsand/orevents. Assistsin the conservation of all Salvation Armyresources.AbidesbyandenforceallSalvationArmypoliciesandprocedures. 

BewillingtoassistinanywayaskedtofulfillthemissionofTheSalvationArmy. 

 

May provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals in the absence of Program Coordinator. 

 

OtherResponsibilities: 

Performsotherrelatedworkasrequired. Performs other duties as assigned. 

MaterialsandEquipment: 

 

Computer,MicrosoftOfficeSuite,Copier,Printer,Fax,Phone,SecuritySystem,AVEquipment,and Motor Vehicles. 

 

MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED: 

 

EducationandExperience: 

 

HighSchoolDiplomaorG.E.D. and 

previousworkinrelatedfieldwithChildrenandYouthpreferred 

and 

 

CommitmenttoactivelyparticipateinaProfessionalDevelopmentPlanincludingLevelII&LevellIII Training which includes completion of 20 Credit Hours of Boys & Girls Club of America Spillett Training. 

 

Licenses&Certifications: 

 

CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe) 

 

PhysicalRequirements: 

 

Knowledge of the principles and practices of First Aid and C.P.R and ability to ensure the safety of children. 

 

Abilitytodealcomfortablywithstressfulsituationsandfollowemergencyprocedures. 

 

Abilitytomulti-task,abilitytofollowinstructionsandcompletetasksinasafeandeffectivemanners. Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner. 

Abilitytomeetattendancerequirements. 

 

Abilitytoread,write,andcommunicatetheEnglishlanguageeffectively. Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. 

Abilitytoworkunderthepressureofdeadlinesandtimeconstraints. Ability to meet attendance requirements. 

Dutiesareusuallyperformedbycombinationsofsitting,standingandwalkingonafrequentchange basis. 

 

WorkingConditions: 

 

Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirtand the like.
