About this opportunity:

Plans, prepares, cooks, and serves nutritious meals and snacks according to established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served safely and presentably; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances; and maintains a neat and orderly inventory of kitchen supplies and food.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plans menus and purchases food and supplies necessary for preparing and serving nutritional meals. 

• Cleans, cooks, and prepares various foods and beverages utilizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and supplies per acceptable and economical cooking methods.

• Ensures enough food is prepared based on the number of people to be served and that food is ready promptly as scheduled.

• Food and beverages should be prepared in a presentable manner; plates should be prepared for infants or persons requiring additional assistance. 

• Sets tables with plates, napkins, and utensils or sets up a buffet line for self-service.

• Prepare snacks and plates of food for people to eat after regular serving hours.

What we are looking for in you:

•  High School diploma or equivalent

•  One year of experience cooking food for large groups

• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to show up to work on time. Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language. Ability to cook, taste, and smell food. Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting, relieved by lesser periods of sitting. Physical ability to lift, carry, and/or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs.). Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, and heat, or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Work is performed in a typical kitchen environment where little physical discomfort may be related to working around hot stoves/ovens or cold freezers.
