The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, has a job opening for a Christmas Kettle Coordinator for the Coastal Alabama Area Command, located in Mobile, Alabama.

 

About this opportunity:

 

This is a Seasonal position. Recruits, trains, coordinates, and monitors the work of seasonal employees and volunteer bell ringers ensuring ample staff to meet location needs. Plans, schedules, and assigns work of staff and volunteers. Drives Salvation Army vehicle(s) to deliver and collect kettles and supplies to kettle locations and workers. Meets with community leaders and organizations and discusses Salvation Army needs

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:

  • Knowledge of volunteer recruitment methods and practices.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to maintain volunteer and financial database.

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • High School or G.E.D. and one year experience working with kettle fund raising programs preferred; or
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid Driver’s License required

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Work is performed in and out of the office and in a wide variety of weather conditions.  Dressing appropriately is important for remaining safe and comfortable. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 50-75% of work time. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
