Bell Ringer - Seasonal

Christmas Bell Ringer - Seasonal Full Time, $9/hour

Job Summary:
Assists with the local Red Kettle Campaign for an assigned location by manning a Christmas Kettle. Rings bell (where allowed by store management) to attract donors. Greets public in a courteous and friendly manner and expresses appreciation to donors.

Essential Functions:
Monitors a kettle at an assigned location; ensures that the kettle is never left unattended; ensures the security and accountability of kettle and funds with established operating procedures.
Where allowed by management, rings a handheld bell in an acceptable manner as instructed to attract attention to the Kettle and to encourage donations
Greet the public in a courteous and friendly manner; expresses appreciation to donors
Distribute printed material or other items, only as instructed by supervisor
Provides general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services
Conducts job duties in accordance with the ministry of The Salvation Army and its Christian principles

Materials and Equipment:
Tripod, Kettle, Sign, Bell and Apron

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to follow instructions with limited supervision
Ability to greet and respond to the general public in a courteous manner
Ability to abide by the dress code
Ability to ring a small hand bell and be responsible for bell and apron
Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to stand in one location for extended periods in outside weather conditions with breaks and lunch periods as required by State Law
