Sorting Room Worker_NE-FL_401-Thrift Store Department

Location: Tallahassee Corps, Tallahassee, FL

Position Type: Regular Part-Time, Up to 29 Hours Per Week

About this opportunity:

Receives, sorts, prices and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards; assist in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.

Key responsibilities:

• Tags items with specially coded tickets and/or prices in accordance with established procedures.
• Responds to customer’s questions; maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of the store display.
• Receives, inspects and sorts donated items such as clothes, shoes, household items, bric-a-brac, etc.  according to the category and condition. 
• Packs items in boxes and marks boxes accordingly, assists in transporting boxes to appropriate storage area.

What we are looking for in you:

• No formal education or experience required.
• Ability to determine the condition of items in accordance with established standards
• Ability to sort items in accordance with established categories

 Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting.

Work is performed in a normal store environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather.
