Driver & Food Pantry Worker
Location: Greensboro Corps - Greensboro, NC
Position Type: Regular Part Time
About this opportunity:
Responsible for the food pantry and other donation pick-ups, which includes maintaining a consistent state of cleanliness and order in all areas, keeping an accurate count of donation inventory, maintaining Salvation Army vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Completes a daily pre-inspection sheet prior to pick-ups
- Picks up food and other donations from various vendors
- Weigh all food pick-ups and record data to logs
- Receive, count, stock food and hygiene items; determine proper storage methods as to prevent food spoilage, identification, and stock location; mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electronic marking tools or other labeling equipment as requested
- Responsible for unloading and storing all foods, supplies that are delivered
What we are looking for in you:
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred; OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
Certifications/Licenses
- Valid Driver’s license. Clean driving record
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, lifting, and walking on a frequent change basis;
- Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light to heavy objects (up to 75 lbs.) frequently;
- Work is usually performed in a normal food pantry environment where there is some physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, with the exception of driving conditions.
