Position: Angel Tree Worker

About this opportunity:

Works in the Christmas center; lifts, carries, loads and unloads variety of donations that may include furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; works to promote the safety and security of the warehouse; assists with the cleanup, lay out, and set up of the warehouse; assists with possible pick up from the malls or corporations, if necessary.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.
  •  
  • Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.
  •  
  • Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
  •  
  • Sweep and/or mop assigned areas as needed.
  •  
  • Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.
  •  
  • Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal.
  •  
  • Maintain grounds through picking up trash as needed.
  •  
  • Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
  •  
  • Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.
  •  
  • Arrives at warehouse according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.
  •  
  • Reports accidents immediately to Special Events Manager, requesting police or ambulance service as needed.  Assists injured persons from first aid kit until these services arrive.
  •  
  • Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.
  • Assists in cleaning and maintaining the Christmas warehouse and loading dock area.
  •  
  • Assists in working in all areas of the Christmas warehouse operations as needed.
  •  
  • Performs special projects as needed.
  •  
  • Performs other related work as required.
  •  
  • Will assist in the unloading of truck at the warehouse.

 

 

What we are looking for in you:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.

Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.

Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
