JOB SUMMARY:

Works with Corps/Area Command Officer and Development department (if applicable) in communicating with about adopting Angels with donors and volunteers needs and assessments.  Makes sure all information and necessary items to fulfill the adoption of Angels in a timely and efficient manner for pick up and return of gifts.  Manages the Angel Tree Program; recruits, trains, coordinates the work of volunteers ensuring sample staff to meet Christmas Angel Tree program needs; prepares records and reports for the Christmas Angel Tree program.

Interviews, recruits, screens and selection of volunteers for the Christmas Angel Tree Program. Posts listing of volunteers at Malls to ensure staffing at all times.

Maintains names of volunteers at the Christmas Distribution or warehouse facilities to be kept current at all times either written or electronically.

Calls and recruits volunteers if each time slot is not filled, reviewing the previous year’s list of names and numbers; recruits replacement volunteer if a volunteer calls and is unable to report.

Maintains the statistics, placement and follow-up for all Angels at all locations for Corps or Area Command locations.

Communicates with donors about adopting Angels.

Assist in assigning of Angels to donors in TSAMM.

Coordinates/manages the preparation of Angel orders for donors.

Communicate and coordinate the pick-up of Angel orders with donors.

Assist with Client Interviewing/Database entry.

Assists with an Appreciation Program for the Christmas Angel Tree Program employees and Christmas Angel Tree volunteers at the end of the season.

Contacts Corporate Sponsors on the number of angels they require, preparing materials and angels for delivery.

Answers all telephone calls in a polite and courteous manner, obtaining answers from appropriate personnel if answer is not known.

Provides accurate and complete information about Christmas Angel Tree Programs.

Compiles information for booklets, kits, notebooks for meeting and recruitment of Christmas Angel Tre volunteers and/or Christmas Angel Tree employees.

Evaluates and provides a report of the success of the Christmas Angel Tree Program at the end of the season.


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs other related work as required.


MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT:
General Office Equipment


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School diploma or G.E.D.

and


Two years experience working in an office environment (preferred)


or


Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Valid driver’s license


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Knowledge of effective and efficient record keeping. Knowledge of the English language.
Ability to maintain an efficient and organized filing system to ensure that items can be retrieved in a timely manner.
Ability to answer the telephone in a courteous and tactful manner. Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the work.
Ability to follow instructions, plan and organize work, and work under limited supervision.


MENTAL AND PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically.
Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, typewriter, and computer
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering phones or speaking in person to clients requiring assistance.
Ability to perform all duties with an understanding of the mission, ministry, philosophy, culture, and protocol of The Salvation Army and conducts all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 75-80% of work time.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in a normal office environment and/or large warehouse facility.
Work may require driving a vehicle where there may be discomforts associated with heavy traffic or changes in weather.
