Facilities Director - FT Salaried Tulsa $70,000 - $75,000
The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is looking for a Facilities Director for our Tulsa Area Command located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Job Summary:
Ensures that The Salvation Army’s capital plant, grounds, and equipment in the Tulsa Metro Area are maintained in optimal condition to support regular and seasonal operations, programs, and missional activities; Plans, directs, guides, and monitors day-to-day general maintenance, repairs, renovations, and major property improvements. Plans, schedules, assigns, and supervises the work of subordinate personnel; negotiates, supervises, and monitors all contracted maintenance services; Processes all property-related items for local leadership and appropriate Salvation Army board consideration; ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and in compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards; maintains an inventory of all Salvation Army properties, and administers a departmental budget.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management processes and procedures.
Knowledge of the methods, materials, tool, and practices used in at least two of the building, electrical or mechanical trades.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
Knowledge and skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the trades involved.
Ability to supervise, prioritize, motivate, monitor, and evaluate the work of subordinate maintenance employees.
Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
Ability to cultivate and maintain effective professional relationships with a diverse group of people and remain sensitive to their concerns.
Effective communication skills – oral and written. Solid analytical and statistical skills.
Ability to prepare and administer a departmental budget.
Ability to negotiate, supervise and monitor contract maintenance services.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
and,
Five years of facilities management and maintenance experience, which includes three years of supervisory experience and two years using project management software,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:
Valid state driver's license.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively.
Ability to drive Salvation Army vehicles in a safe manner.
Day to day duties is performed seated with frequent periods of physical mobility including standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and squatting necessary to fulfill project/work site responsibilities which include planning, directing, reviewing, and inspecting.
Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 15-20% of work time.
Working Conditions:
Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like. Frequent visits to project/work site environments with some minor physical discomforts associated with changes in weather, noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
