Position Type:  Program Coordinator

About this opportunity: Supervises, coordinates, monitors, and participates in the day-to-day operations of the Children’s Program ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures; prepares client and statistical records/reports; builds relationships with other agencies in the community in order to serve as an advocate for the client and to make appropriate referrals; performs a variety of clerical and secretarial work necessary for the smooth operation of the Corps; researches and writes grants as needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Interviews applicants to determine eligibility for program enrollment based on established guidelines and requirements; conduct needs assessment, obtains pertinent information, and establish program goals for eligible clients; refers applicants to other agencies if not appropriate for program.
  • Develops client intake and case plans for clients; instructs clients in completing necessary paperwork including goals and/or budget forms; completes orientation check-off form and obtains release of information forms when appropriate; completes social history on new clients each week.
  • Meets regularly with clients to discuss and evaluate their progress; prepares accurate and up-to-date records documenting the same; monitors client behavior, group attendance, medication, and movement; receives incident reports and enforces disciplinary actions for infractions of the house guidelines.
  • Refers clients to appropriate Corps programs or other agencies based on client’s needs and in accordance with their program plan.

What we are looking for in you:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required, with an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Two years experience providing assistance for those in a non-profit environment.
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail with constant breaks in concentration associated with answering phones or speaking in person to clients requiring assistance. Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.

Working Conditions

Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
