About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for
Prioritizes and delegates housekeeping tasks to camp housekeepers. Schedules camp casual housekeepers in accordance with the Camp events calendar. Documents all housekeeping assignments and gives regular updates to Camp Secretary/Guest Services. Performs a variety of housekeeping duties for Camp Walter Johnson; leads other housekeeping staff in proper methods and procedures for performing housekeeping work. Cleans all lodges and meeting spaces on Camp; cleans all public bathrooms. Washes, stores, and distributes linens; ensures neatness and cleanliness of the camp daily. Organizes and maintains all housekeeping storage areas. Tracks and organizes all housekeeping supplies, notifying Camp Secretary/Guest Services when supplies need to be ordered. Submits maintenance work orders as necessary, reporting immediate needs to Camp Secretary/Guest Services.

Creates and maintains work schedule for all camp housekeepers according to the events calendar.
Creates daily and weekly written lists of prioritized housekeeping tasks for other housekeepers.
Documents housekeeping tasks, date of completion, and who completed them.
Turns in all lost and found items to Secretary/Guest Services.
Cleans lodges-collects, washes, folds, stores, and distributes linens; ensure the accountability of the linens.
Cleans and disinfects bathrooms; cleans sinks, toilets, and showers, polishes mirrors, and replenishes paper products as needed.
Sweeps, vacuums, mops, waxes floors; sweeps sidewalks and entrances to buildings. Knocks down cobwebs around entrance and outside windows.
Cleans windows and windowsills, dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures.
Empties trash can regularly in the private rooms and lets maintenance/ janitor personnel that it needs to be taken to the dump.
Assists in monitoring light and plumbing fixtures to ensure all are in working order; replaces light bulbs as necessary. Clean bugs and cobwebs out of light fixtures. Submit work orders for any necessary maintenance repairs.
Drives a Camp issued golf cart to and from buildings.
Maintains all supplies, parts, and equipment belonging to the assigned buildings.
Stocks, organizes, and maintains inventory of all linens, towels, janitorial supplies, etc. Reports to Secretary/Guest Services in a timely manner any supplies that need to be ordered.
What we are looking for in you:
Knowledge of proper housekeeping methods and procedures.
Ability to perform general cleaning activities for buildings
Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Ability to exert physical energy required to performs housekeeping work.
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs, and climbing.
Ability to drive a golf cart between buildings to perform duties of the job in a timely efficient manner
