Position Type:  Seasonal (starts on or about November 1, 2024 and ends on December 24, 2024)

Position Title:   Kettle Driver

Pay Rate:          $15.56/hr.

About this opportunity: 

This position drives a Salvation Army vehicle in order to transport passengers and Red Kettle equipment to bell ringing locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides transportation for employees and volunteers from the Corps to the Kettle locations and back at assigned times throughout the day. 

• Ensures the security of the kettles and funds from the time they are picked up until they are turned over to the designated person at the counting location.

• Takes empty kettles to the kettle locations and transports the kettles back to the Corps after assigned shifts; switches out full kettles for empty ones, as needed throughout the day.
• Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.

What we are looking for in you: 

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. and two (2) years of experience operating an automotive vehicle; OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Valid State Driver’s License 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: 

• Ability to meet attendance requirements.
• Ability to drive a vehicle in heavy traffic and extended trips.
• Duties include extensive driving to and from kettle locations 75-80% of work time.
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying equipment (less than 40 lbs.) 40-50% of work time.
