Pay Range: $50,894 to $57,250 per year

About this opportunity:

  • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors day-to-day operations of assigned social services programs such as Red Shield Lodge, Hope Crossing, Social Services and Seasonal Programs, etc.; supervises and participates in casework performed by program staff ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures; supervises the case management and front desk staff; prepares statistical reports.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Consults with the Social Services Director on casework practices and program changes.
  • Collaborates with the Director to determine effective approaches for resolving complex client cases.
  • Prepares correspondence and completes essential paperwork for program operations.
  • Manages the collection of program fees, including accurate record-keeping and receipt issuance.
  • Prepares bank deposits following established office and program monetary procedures.
  • Completes deposits in collaboration with the Finance Department on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, depending on shelter capacity. 
  • Coordinates with case managers to ensure timely responses to financial assistance requests for Transitional Housing residents, verifies eligibility, and collects all necessary documentation.
  • Supervises the case management team, ensuring accurate assessments of community financial assistance requests, effective ongoing service provision, and the development of individual case and Housing Stability Plans.
  • Audits client records promptly to ensure accuracy and currency, reviews and tracks client status, and maintains strict confidentiality of all client information.
  • Represents the agency at community meetings when the Social Services Director is absent, delivering program information and insights as required.
  • Works closely with the Food Service Manager, Volunteer Coordinator, and Social Services Director to support and enhance Seasonal Programs.
  • Actively coordinates and oversees the Angel Tree program and Toy Shop.
  • Manages the Resident Monitors, ensuring adequate staff coverage and adherence to security measures

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Ensures thorough knowledge of base policies, procedures, and empirical practice to properly supervise staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations with assigned staff.
  • Conducts monthly CQI reviews of client files.
  • Recommends routine expenditures within policy limitations.
  • Maintains knowledge of and ensures staff and self-participation in Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Ensures active participation as part of the Social Service Center’s Administrative Team.
  • Coordinates and participates in the preparation and distribution of holiday food boxes to needy families.
  • Conducts home visits for clients who are disabled and unable to visit the office if needed.
  • Performs other related work as required.

What we are looking for in you:

 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Behavioral Science, or a related field,
  • Or
  • Four years progressively responsible experience performing social services work with at least one year in a supervisory capacity,
  • any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
