Job Summary
The Group Fitness Instructor (GEI) will be responsible for designing/implementing and teaching safe and appropriate group exercise classes for members and guests; designing all class choreography, performing music selection and determining appropriate equipment required for each fitness class they teach; learning and implements all choreography as designed by their respective certifying agency; ensures that all exercise and equipment used is done safely and appropriately for the exercise class demographics; ensures safety in fitness spaces provide
Builds and maintains a close relationship with the Fitness & Wellness Manager, Lead Group Fitness Instructor, other Group Fitness Instructors, and Kroc Center members and guests to ensure everyone has a rewarding and safe experience in the Kroc Community Center.
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will understand the importance of punctuality and preparedness. You will arrive for classes on time, ready to work, and fully prepared for each class session, setting a professional standard for your colleagues and inspiring confidence in your students.
As a Group Fitness Instructor, you will be committed to your professional development, maintaining appropriate certifications and meeting continuing education requirements based on the class and certification needs. This dedication to staying current in the field will be a key part of your role.
Or, if applicable, obtain group exercise instructor certification within six months of hire and maintain certification after that.
