About this opportunity: The Kroc Associate is focused on member acquisition and experience in the areas of Membership, Recreation and Fitness. These staff members are responsible for participating in the creation of a welcoming, helpful, and safe environment where individuals and families can learn, grow, and thrive. Oversees the daily use of the fitness center and equipment by members, guests, and visitors; ensures safe, professional, and enjoyable operation of the fitness area; ensures the safety, cleanliness and proper maintenance of the fitness facility and equipment; opens and/or closes the gym and basic set up for events on a daily basis.

Key responsibilities:

• Warmly greets all people that we encounter throughout the Kroc Center
• Operates CCMS/RMS computer software for customer transactions in accordance with Salvation Army and member policies.
• Looks for opportunities to be helpful to members, guests, and colleagues.
• Answers incoming phone calls, addresses needs, and provides program information in a professional and kind manner.

What we are looking for in you:

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• Experience in customer relations and leading fitness and recreational activities preferred.
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write and communicate the English language. Ability to demonstrate good physical condition and effort associated with walking, running, standing, and moderate-to-advanced weightlifting in a fitness center environment including the ability to meet the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs. Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment. Moderate mobility: duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change’s basis.
