Corps Mission Associate
Location: St Petersburg Citadel Corps, St Petersburg, Florida
Position Type: Full Time - Ministerial Exemption
Pay Range: $39,500 annual salary
About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for subscribing to, adhering to, and sharing the Doctrines, Mission, and Positions of The Salvation Army. The Corps Mission Associate serves as an evangelist to the community and constituency of the Corps; develops and leads worship services, Corps groups, community outreach programs, and ministerial programs; provides spiritual guidance and leadership to the same. Assists Corps Officer(s) in planning, coordinating, administrating, monitoring, evaluating, and developing the day-to-day operations of the Corps; monitors and maintains adequate financing and budgetary compliance of the Corps operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Serves as an evangelist through the proclamation of Jesus Christ as redeemer with the intent of impacting the lives of men and women through spiritual regeneration; promotes membership into the body of Christ which includes but is not limited to The Salvation Army.
- Assists Corps Officer and Program Coordinator in planning and implementing worship and outreach programs for the corps that reaches across all age groups.
- Plans, develops, prepares, and leads specific youth ministries programs; leads or assists with regular meetings for Adventure Corps; prepares and coordinates or assists with production of Christian program materials and newsletters; assists in Sunday School teacher development.
What we are looking for in you:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, AND
- Three years’ experience performing mission work or experience participating in program development for a church or corps, OR
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- This position requires an active, uniform-wearing Salvationist in good standing.
- Employee must be cleared through FBI fingerprinting, FDLE criminal check and credit checks.
- Valid State Driver's License.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Work requires travel to conduct community and home visits.
