Job Summary:
Plans, implements, supervises members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys & Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. May oversee special programs and/or events (i.e. Keystone, Youth of the Year and Awards Programs), and/or participate in the implementation of other unit activities as necessary. In absence of the Program Coordinator; may provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals to ensure continuity of program services at unit/branch locations. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.

Essential Functions:

Prepare Youth for Success (20%)
Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes:
- Promotes and stimulates program participation.
- Assists with registration of new members and participates in their club orientation process.
- Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
Program Development and Implementation (50%)
Implements and administers programs, services, and activities for Club members in an effective manner.
May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of Year programs or Youth of the Month.
Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch at all times. Prepare periodic activity reports.
Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
Facility & Equipment Management (10%)
Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order.
Assists in maintaining all storage areas keeping them orderly and clean.
Reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to supervisor.
Driver (20%)
Provides transportation for children to and from school and Community Center.
Provides transportation for children to and from afternoon activities including sporting events.
Provides transportation for children to and from day camp and during day camp trips.
Provides transportation for groups for summer camp.
Picks-up and delivers miscellaneous items as needed.
Drives carefully and observes/complies with all traffic signs and road/weather conditions to ensure the safety of passengers.
Parks vehicle in a safe and clearly marked parking space.
Locks vehicle doors when vehicle is not in use.
Fuels vehicle in accordance with state gasoline regulations and The Salvation Army standards.
Logs all mileage on standard forms; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
Arrives at destination according to schedule or telephones ahead when severe delays occur.
Maintains control of passenger activities by prohibiting unsafe or non-Christian behavior.
Schedules routine maintenance of The Salvation Army vehicle to ensure safety of passengers and long life of vehicle.
Washes and cleans vehicle regularly.
Additional Responsibilities:
May participate in special programs and/or events.
May be required to drive Club vehicle.
Assists in the conservation of all Salvation Army resources.
Abides by and enforce all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
Be willing to assist in any way asked to fulfill the mission of The Salvation Army.
May provide supervision oversight to other Youth Development Professionals in the absence of Program Coordinator.
Performs any other duties as may be assigned.
Other Responsibilities:
Performs other related work as required.

Materials and Equipment:
Computer, Microsoft Office Suite, Copier, Printer, Fax, Phone, Security System, AV Equipment, and Motor Vehicles.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner.
Ability to support and coordinate activities and events.
Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to individuals and groups.

Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
Ability to operate and generally maintain all office equipment, including but into limited to the copier, fax machine.
Proficiency with Windows & Microsoft Office 365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
and
previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred
and
Commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan including Level II & Levell III Training which includes completion of 20 Credit Hours of Boys & Girls Club of America Spillett Training.
Licenses & Certifications:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clear driving record.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to interact with co-workers and the public in a positive, professional manner.

Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing and walking on a frequent change basis.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like.
