GENERAL SUMMARY

 

The Director of Career Services is responsible for overseeing all aspects and employees of the Career Services Department and placement activities. This entails the management of all placement processes in order to meet the school’s placement goals and to ensure that the school adheres to professional standards and policies in all aspects of student placement and academic partnerships.

  

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTITES

  • Create overall strategy, develop and adhere to budget, and manage employees in accordance with all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal, state regulations and all accrediting agencies standards and requirements.
  • Market career services to student body (through new student orientation, class visits, etc.)
  • Oversee individual student consultation targeting skill development, practical training, and job search
  • Develop relationships with employers and faculty to facilitate student placements for internships and permanent jobs
  • Seek out new opportunities and cutting-edge materials maintaining these resources in the career services department.
  • Serve as a consultant to faculty, staff, and appropriate student organizations, providing information about available career development and placement services and related needs of students.
  • Provide resource center for professional development
  • Coordinate with alumni association, track employment status, and offer career services
  • Meet or exceed target placement rate
  • Plan and implement special events and student activities (i.e. industry speakers, job fairs, etc.)
  • Continuous research of industry and employer happenings and trends.
  • Maintain and submit Graduate Success reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Provide job search and assistance to students on an as needed basis.
  • Conduct workshops and coordinate job fairs.
  • Other duties as required or assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3 -5years’ experience in career placement.
  • Previous management experience a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business equipment.  Siting for long periods of time; up to 8 hours of computer and/or phone work daily.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Majority of work is performed in a general office environment.

The expected salary range for this position is between $50,000-60,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
