Lab Clerk - Big Spring
The role of Lab Clerk plays an integral role in the overall success of the plant quality control laboratory through timely and accurate administrative support. The Lab Clerk communicates not only with internal employees and departments, but also provides support services to our external customers as well. This role ensures testing results and analysis completed in the local laboratory are documented and disseminated properly to the intended systems and recipients.
Essential Functions
• Supports quality assurance laboratory operations through the execution of the following administrative tasks:
• Perform data entry regarding:
• Product sample test results for all orders and shipments
• Packaged material details including but not limited to:
• Tank identification
• Packaging dates
• Testing dates
• Container types
• Product codes and grades
• Lot dates
• Purchase order numbers
• Production dates
• Shipment, residue, standard and testing worksheets
• Scanning and filing of a variety of department documents and reports including but not limited to:
• Shipment, residue, and standard worksheets
• Certificates of Analysis (COAs)
• Department processes and procedures
• Ensure the proper distribution of Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to multiple destinations in addition to addressing all customer required/requested information (e.g. external customers, etc.) via various methods of contact (e.g. email, telephonic, electronic data interface transfers, etc.)
• Maintain and update policies and procedures as needed in addition to distributing hard copies to department employees
• Provide administrative support of annual and ad hoc laboratory activities including but not limited to:
• Performance reviews scheduling
• Testing and operational procedure changes and updates
• Collaborate with various internal and external entities to ensure proper communication is received to the relevant managerial parties that supports administrative lab processes
• Liaise between office personnel notices and department to ensure vital information is shared timely and appropriately (e.g. internal job postings, meeting schedules, safety notices, schedules etc.)
• Perform additional duties as required by supervisor
Required Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 1+ years prior experience in an administrative support role
• Impeccable data entry skills with equal heightened emphasis on speed and accuracy
• Skilled verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated progressive ability to multi-task while meeting hard deadlines
• Discerning ability to prioritize work assignments and pivot naturally to address emergent needs
• Intermediate level organization skills
• Ability to collaborate with various internal and external clients while providing superior customer service.
• Proficient in Microsoft office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Preferred Education and Experience
• Functional experience with variety of computer software such as:
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems and tools
• 6+ months experience in a manufacturing plant
