The Account Manager (Utility Services) is a seasoned sales professional responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with strategically important customers in the utility sector. This role involves achieving sales targets, managing pipelines, and ensuring customer satisfaction while representing a range of utility services. The Account Manager will lead account planning cycles and collaborate with internal teams to meet customer needs and expectations.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the development of sales strategies for accounts by providing the customer's current business and long-term plans.
- Proposes sales targets and inputs to grow margins for the account and ensures their achievement with a structured follow-up process.
- Leads the development and implementation of the account plan, including designing the executive relationship strategy and coverage plans.
- Establishes and develops account relationships based on a defined strategy and acts as the focal point for problem resolution.
- Develops, maintains, and shares detailed knowledge of the customer's business strategy, purchasing behavior, and competition.
- Sells solutions/services to customers, focusing on volume, mix, and profitability targets.
- Monitors competitors' activity with each account and formulates appropriate response strategies.
- Creates added value for the customer by ensuring a deep understanding of their applications and instilling customer confidence through strong technical knowledge.
- Coordinates the use of internal or external resources to provide value-added service to accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 7 years' relevant sales experience or a Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years' relevant sales experience.
- Experience in Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and/or Marketing.
- Sales/Business Development experience working with clients in the utilities and/or energy markets.
- Strong customer relationship skills and exceptional analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while remaining organized and strategic.
Nice-to-haves
- 2-5 years of experience working with large investor-owned utility clients is a plus.
- Recent experience working with the sales & marketing of Utility services (Power, Fiber, Wireless).
