Corporate Strategy Analyst (HYBRID MA)

The Hanover Insurance Group is seeking a Corporate Strategy Analyst to join its Corporate Strategy Team in our Worcester, MA location in a hybrid work arrangement.
This is a full time, except role.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Are you ready to make a significant impact on The Hanover’s vision and direction? This role will serve as a key member of the Corporate Strategy team, informing our strategy and aligning execution against key imperatives.
The breadth of project work will require the Analyst to work closely with leaders in many areas of organization including but not limited to Business Units, Field Sales, Technology and Corporate Development. This position will be pivotal in various critical initiatives. Examples of the types of initiatives you may be involved in include:
- Business Unit Strategies – support various businesses as they refine their strategy and/or develop critical initiatives including the evaluation of new capabilities and operating models
- Territory Assessments – prepare evaluations of the external environment and Hanover’s position. Facilitate decisions on Hanover’s short- and long-term approach to critical markets
- Strategic Planning – support the development of Hanover’s strategy across multiple time horizons
- Market Profiles – update leadership on relevant competitor intelligence and marketplace trends
- Agency Insights Center of Excellence – support the CoE that drives innovation of a unique agency consulting tool and also manages a contributory database that informs Hanover strategies
- Executive Presentations – produce impactful materials for internal and external meetings

This Corporate Strategy Analyst position is an excellent role to accelerate your understanding of both the industry and The Hanover!
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Drive analytical efforts aligned to the Corporate Strategy agenda.
- Gather business requirements from appropriate stakeholders.
- Define deliverable and determine optimal game plan to complete the work.
- Research, prioritize, collect, and integrate disparate data sources.
- Apply best practices in analytical and reporting techniques.
- Validate results to ensure accuracy.
- Synthesize net takes and deliver actionable insights to key stakeholders.
- Build repeatable tools based on learnings from prior efforts.
- Implement process governance to maintain integrity of all internal and external data utilized by team. Document processes for consistent approach to future initiatives.
- Maintain best practices on principles and frameworks for corporate strategy efforts. Recommend changes to meet short- and long-term business needs.
- Develop solid understanding of industry and Independent Agent Channel via ongoing exposure/development plan.
- Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY
- Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience
- Insurance industry knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Expert user of Microsoft Excel; including PowerPivot and integrating disparate data sources
- Excellent communication skills; ability to present to executive leadership; Intermediate user of PowerPoint
- SQL and/or Power BI experience a plus
- Must be self-motivated and organized and comfortable working with senior leaders
- Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (ie. must be greencard holder or US citizen)
