Statistical Reporting Analyst I

Our Finance team is currently seeking a Statistical Reporting Analyst in our Worcester, MA location. This is a full time, exempt role. Position is eligible for a Hybrid/Flex work arrangement.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of detail and aggregate data to external regulatory bodies. Individual should have a solid understanding of all Personal and Commercial Lines of Business. Familiar with statistical agencies and understands the uses for statistical data within the industry. Able to interpret external reporting requirements and collaborate with team to develop a satisfactory solution to a regulatory initiative. May require supervision or support from more experiences Analysts.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Perform data reporting tasks in support of one or more line(s) of business with limited scope, i.e., initially assigned to Personal Lines or Commercial Lines to build a foundation on which to expand.
- Gather, analyze, and report data as required to ISO (Insurance Services Office), NCCI (National Council on Compensation Insurance), and other State Agencies according to their published requirements timely and accurately.
- Execute jobs to produce data to review and validate output.
- Respond to correspondence from Regulators and Internal Customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Stay current with regulatory requirements. Communicate new requirements to the Statistical Business Analysts to assure that any changes impacting processing and reporting systems are addressed appropriately.
- Support project managements tools such as Agile and serve as a project team member for projects of medium to large scope and moderate to high complexity. Participate in project planning from requirements through design, testing, implementation, and maintenance for any changes needed to team reporting systems.
- Maintain detailed instructions for all data reports, processes, and data sources.
- Make decisions within identified scope of responsibility.
- Prepare State Surcharge Reports, initiate payments of Surcharges and may prepare monthly or quarterly Account Reconciliations as required by SOX.
- Identify evaluate and implement process improvements.
- Actively participate, sometimes facilitates/leads project meetings.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years of relevant technical or business work experience.
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to identify anomalies in the data being reported, research and offer input to the resolution.
- Technical expertise with Excel, Word, Access required. Technical expertise with Power BI and mainframe applications, i.e., WSF, EOS, Easytrieve Plus, PMS preferred.
- Principles of property and casualty insurance products preferred.
- Insurance data reporting and compliance experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to spend a major part of the workday at a personal computer and operating other standard office equipment.
- Ability to travel as necessary.
