Our Personal Lines State Management team is currently seeking a Sr State Product Management in our Worcester, MA or Howell, MI location. This position is eligible for a Hybrid/Flex work arrangement.

 

This is a full time, exempt role.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The position provides data analysis, problem-solving, and project leadership to support a team of State Managers and help them reach their strategic goals in a region. Independently prepares and analyzes complex and varied financial data and reporting. Take a lead role on key assignments and complex projects and serves as SME as requested. Design and define new reporting requirements, May mentor other state analyst members in the fulfillment of their duties and development of their core responsibilities.
 
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Perform independent analysis and draw conclusions to provide insight and recommendations to State Management
  • Provide rate revision support, including attending meetings, completing checklists, resolving issues, completing analyses, reviewing filing
  • Review competitor filings and collect input from the field about competitor changes, identify potential product improvement based on competitor actions and provides insight and recommendation to State Managers.
  • Review monthly Profit & Loss statements and other monthly reports, working with State Managers, to identify root causes for variances and emerging trends (e.g. loss ratio was 10 points higher than expected due to 5 large losses that added $2 M to our incurred loss total amount for the month).
  • Monitor and report on progress toward financial goals (Growth, CR, LR, Retention). Update rolling 18-month forecast on a regular basis. Track progress of new rate revisions and product launches (i.e. Connections Auto and Connections Home).
  • Work with State Managers to develop and implement state-specific strategies to meet or exceed profit and growth targets.
  • Understand relationships & trends between complex and varied data sets and sources. Able to draw conclusions and communicate findings & recommendations in a concise manner
  • Engage with State Manager / RVP / TSM on key findings when requested

WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:

  • Typically has 5 to 7 years related experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Higher level degree may be desired.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments
